HIV/AIDS Project:
A
group of HIV/AIDS patients, helping the widows and orphans of their
community heard about Village HopeCore and asked us to help. We were
touched by the urgency of their need for nutrition and decided to bring
them into the Village HopeCore family. Within weeks, 6 groups of 12
people living with HIV/AIDS had formed!
Our first priority is to supply them with the nutrition they need. We will then be hoping to provide funding for business loans. Our only requirement will be that they commit to staying on the medication for the full 18 months of their loan cycle. Evidence is growing that those using their medication on a regular basis are surviving. The medication has recently been made affordable in Chogoria, costing the equivalent of $1.50 a month.
