Now that a few loan cycles have been completed with accurate record keeping, we are finding that raising dairy cows may not be as profitable as we had hoped.
Instead, raising dairy goats has turned out to be very profitable. The milk from dairy goats also supplements the benefits of the HIV/AIDS medications.

A
new Board of Directors has been formed in Healdsburg, California.
With the success of the first 5 groups, the filming of the students’ documentary in Chogoria, and visits from other interested people from the United States, 2 more groups have been funded and 30 more have formed and are waiting to receive loans.
Village Hopecore International has renovated and is renting its first office in Chogoria, Kenya, and a computer was donated by Sonoma Academy students. Donations have also provided a vehicle for use by the Village HopeCore family.
Village
HopeCore has developed a new program to provide loans and training specifically
to those with HIV/AIDS.
There are currently six groups of twelve who have applied for funding.
Donations
have been received to fund two of those groups.
In 2005, Village Hopecore International hired a full time Public Health Nurse HIV/AIDS Prevention Specialist. He will work closely with the HIV/AIDS groups as well as all partners and associates of the Village Hope Core family. He will also work as the assistant Program Manager.
In
January 2006, Dr. Mugambi and Dr. Rasori took a group of interested
people to Chogoria. They visited Samburu National Park, Lewa Downs,
Meru National Park, and spent three days in the village, meeting and
working with the Village HopeCore family. If you would like to be part
