Liz Applegate was a Global Health Fellow from 2010 to 2011 and established the school-based mobile clinic, youth peer educator program, and community health worker program. Upon leaving Chogoria she joined the Board of Directors as the Assistant Medical Director for Village HopeCore and moved to Brooklyn, New York. She worked for New York University from 2011 to 2014 as a Research Associate at the Center for Drug Use and HIV Research. She has a Masters in Public Health from UCLA and is working towards her Licensed Clinical Social Worker degree at Hunter College.

Liz is passionate about social justice and addressing global health disparities. As a public health professional her interests include working with people living with HIV/AIDS, community-based research methods, and harm reduction programs. After living in Chogoria she decided to become more focused on working directly with under-served and marginalized populations and plans to become a clinical counselor in community-based medical settings.
